Too bad I lost all my brushes plus I have only photoshop elements to play with, but it was fun.

When one door closes, another will open, they say. I so hope and pray this is true. Today, a had a glimpse of a door that might -  perhaps - hopefully - open. I can't begin to imagine if that actually happened. It would be beyond wonderful. It would set me free.

Ahhh, Tilda, what a gorgeous archangel she was.

Imagine a fairy could grant you one wish - what would it be?

“Spring drew on . . . and a greenness grew over those brown [garden] beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.” Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

Hah! Maybe I'll get in the mood for posting again. We'll see.

Agreed to new *sighs* full-time working hours. Which means I get paid for the work I already do work even more, but the big advantage is that I can work the afternoons from home. Logging in, synchronizing and connecting to all company share drives always takes a while and that gives me time to surf around a bit and collect pics (as I've always loved to do). I have no intention to start twittering or tumblring so I'll put up my picture finds over here. As I used to do in my old paper notebooks where I kept newspaper clip-outs, concert/movie tickets, dried flowers and whatnot.

So I didn't fall off the face of the earth. Sorry for not replying earlier [ profile] poetic_self :-(  I'm a bad person. But also insanely busy. Where did my spare time go? Ah well, things are as they are. Ups and downs. Good times. Bad times. But for now - just shake it, baby!

In case you missed this fantastic piece of information from Peter Jackson's facebook (not that I'd do facebook, certainly not, but I follow his):

It is only at the end of a shoot that you finally get the chance to sit down and have a look at the film you have made.

Recently,  )

And adds:

It's very premature. )

They're talking about the appendices! Yes!!! That includes such stuff as the story of Aragorn and Legolas Arwen and that means we could get to see a young Aragorn (Weta should have no problems with adding a bit of visual effects on Viggo :-)

*rushes off to re-read the appendices*

Hah, so apparently I didn't go through with that Michael Fassbender week. Still haven't seen Prometheus (as it still hasn't come out over here), but I surfed so much about it that now I'm afraid it's crappy and that I will be disappointed. I rather create my own version of David. That viral was inspiring. But the movie? Not so sure about it any more. Bad idea to read too many reviews in advance, rather go, watch it and expect nothing.

Oh, dear, where did my passion for things go? Once I could so fall for something. Now I just shrug my shoulders and smile a thin smile. Kinderkram. Been there. Done that What's next? Does that sound cynical? No, I don't think I've become cynical or bitter. Just very, very hard to impress.

P.S. Apparently, my freewebsitehosting account with lots and lots of pics and manips was closed at some point. Can't  access it anymore. Is the universe trying to tell me something or did they simply change their TOS? I'm a tiny bit disappointed that all my stuff's gone now. Wallowing in nostalgia can be like wrapping yourself in a slightly tattered, but soft and warm blanket.

I miss writing.  A lot. Now when I read my old stuff I wonder where it came from. Did I actually write that? Seems like it was a long, long time ago and that I was a different person then.

So, let's say I heard of Michael Fassbender before. I saw him in A Dangerous Method where neither he nor Viggo didn't impress me much, but I guess that was because I was paying too much attention to Keira's desparately trying to (over)act as a lunatic (sorry, Keira I liked you much better as pirate!King). I didn't care very much for X-Men, but I couldn't help but notice MF as Rochester in Jane Eyre. This time, however, I was completely thrown away by Mia Wasikowska's fantastic performance. Yeah, his Rochester came across as mysterious, soulful, brooding, all perfect for the part, but not as particularily sexy. Yesterday, however, when re-watching 300 (well, there was nothing else on tv, and with all you can critize about 300, it's sheer visual brilliance) I was BLINDED. Not by sublime acting, of course not. But by eye-candy deluxe.

So I started googling. And I decided there needs to be a Michael Fassbender week on this lj, starting today to share (without further comments) all the goodies I found.

Pics from

Now that's Galadriel.

In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!

And while we're talking about mysteries, why's my lj header bar all of sudden set to Spanish? And why does someone leave me a comment I not authorized to view? I mean what's the point of an invisible comment?

And hey, because it's Viggo. The has more pics.

Pics # 2 and 3 remind me, don't ask me why, guess it's the atmosphere, of that mini series The Lost Room. Don't remember much of that series, it was cheaply done in parts, but it had some interesting ideas. Everyday objects with unusual powers, especially The Key that leads you to the Lost Room. Ah, I wish I could write a fic along these lines. Mystery. Suspense. Sublime horrors. And Orlando would be an evil, gold-eyed demon. You mean there were no demons in the original? Ah, never mind.

Ok, enough for today. Three posts for one day, that should last for the next three months ;-)

Can't get this song out of my head!

Ok, it's h&m. Mostly likely the clothes in this commercial consist of 100% (recycled ?) polyester - and I won't go into issues as labour or production practices of fast fashion chains now. The designs are lovely. And I very much like the summery, dreamy quality of this vid. Not to forget Avalon - best soundtrack ever.

It's magic.

The lyrics go: 'I'm so tired in´╗┐ the morning, but I'm wide awake at night.I'm so solid in the morning, but I get weak at night.. so weak!

Yeah, that's me :-)

What a lovely - and completely unexpected - surprise :-) Thank you so much, anonymus/anonyma!

Well, I'd say it's me who decides that. And because first I was busy doing Christmas things, and then busy doing nothing, and then knocked out for a while by a nasty cold, now is an excellent moment to make a few New Year's resolutions.

In 2012 I will concentrate on what makes me happy.

I will say NO more often.

Every day I will take some time that is only for me - even if it's only 30 minutes, to do some yoga, go running ... or do nothing but look at the clouds.

Three is a good number, so I'll leave at that (and because # 4 would be totally unrealistic and very much against my nature, and therefore couldn't make me happy eventually, though who knows?, maybe it'd make me feel better:  go to bed at an hour that I can wake up in the morning without a clock).

*sighs with happiness* Feels like coming home ... to Middle Earth!
