AutumnImpressions

The other day I was thinking how very well things turned out for me this year. And that this year, for the first time in long years, I may be able to just enjoy the advent season, see friends, go the cinema (often!), enjoy the Xmas markets, perhaps even manage to buy my presents in time. Next thing on my agenda (oh yeah, I can't help it, there always seems to be an agenda), is baking cookies together with my darling friend S next Saturday.

Christmas is upon us again!

Yeah, I can't believe it - every year it comes as such a surprise :-) But 'twas about time they're selling gingerbread since mid-september ... I quite look forward to the mulled wine they sell at those Christmas markets - somehow it always tastes better outside.

Hope you have a lovely advent season, too - take care!

Question-

Do you have a recipe for Springerlis ? I have recipes for every other traditional Christmas cookie- except for Springerlis. I even have the molds for them, but not a recipe. I'd rather ask a trusted friend than dig around the Internet for something that may not be right.

So, if you have the recipe, I'd love to have it, please .

Wow, I never tried these (because I don't have those lovely molds), but I found a recipe in one of my cook books that should - hopefully - be good. I don't have enough time today but I'll translate it for you on Friday.

The standard repertoire my friend and I bake every year consists of lemond curd cookies, cranberry-muesli cookies, vanilla crescents ("Vanillekipferl) and stollen cookies. This year I also want to do something with chocolate.

Thank you so much! When ever you have time to do this, I'd appreciate it.

I make candy cane shaped cookies, cinnamon stars, gingerbread molded cookies,Thumbprint vanilla cookies with raspberry jam, and a peanutbutter cookie with a chocolate kiss on top. I usually buy Pfeffernüsse, because there is a local baker who makes them wonderfully.

The pics all come from my collection at pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/iothatsme/falling-leaves-hide-the-path-so-quitely/). What I don't like about fall - and even less about winter - is the cold (and having to wear layers above layers of clothing to keep you warm), but so far it was relatively mild. So yeah, tis nice.

Hope things are fine with you, too!!!
