Well, well, well - to tell you truth I wasn't overly enthusiastic about The Hobbit (the film), mainly because I always preferred LotR (both book and film). Still, it never ceases to amaze me what fantastic universe evolved from that very first sentence: "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."
So I'm certainly going to see it next month.

Well, since you've seen the first act,you have to go on,don't you?
It's such a pleasure to see Middle-Earth again,in all it's glory and beauty,I really must travel to NZ,sooner than later.
Besides, hum,I fell hard for Thorin,I know, pathetic at my old age,but as they say,old maybe, but not dead!

Agree with the power of this first sentence:reader hooked in a second.

Oh, hi there - how are you these days?

Ah, sure I'm going to see the 2nd part - and yeah, it was good to see Middle Earth again. Though it felt somehow ... different. Due to the the crystal clear HDness, I guess. Took me a while to get used to it. Actually, I re-watched the Hobbit the other day and now I know what I didn't like about it. I think they simply overdid it with all the special effects. As for example with the Orc King's underground cave, it could have been much, much scarier if they had gone for a more natural look instead of countless ropes and plank bridges and all sorts of orc contraptions. Moria felt more mysterious and real. Both the Orc King and the Trolls appeared to me like caricatures. Not to mention Radagast the Brown. Aww, come on, he's a wizard, after all, and not just some means of comic relief.

Yeah, I'd love to go to New Zealand, too. If it wasn't for the endless flight ...

Good for you that you fell hard for Thorin, I find it awfully hard these days to really get into something. I'd say that's pathetic!
